Bloomsbury today announced that Lorraine Levis will join Bloomsbury as Head of Sales, Ireland on 1st November 2023 as the publisher confirms its new in-house sales team for the territory.

Levis will head up the newly created sales team selling Bloomsbury Group* titles across Ireland and work in close collaboration with the Bloomsbury head office teams to represent the voice of the Irish market in Bloomsbury.  Levis moves back into publishing sales from her most recent role at WHSmith Travel as Book Category Buyer for Ireland. Previously, she spent over three years as a member of the Penguin Random House Irish sales team where she built relationships with all major Irish retailers and wholesalers. Levis started her publishing career as a bookseller in Dubray’s Dublin store and was named as a rising star by The Bookseller in 2022.

I am overjoyed to be joining Bloomsbury to lead their new sales team in Ireland and feel honoured to be taking over the Bloomsbury and Head of Zeus legacies from Repforce and Gill Hess. I've spent many years admiring the publishing across the Bloomsbury Group imprints and I can't wait to get started on working directly with the brilliant Irish booksellers to continue to grow the lists in the future!

Group Sales Director, Bloomsbury Publishing

Brigid Nelson

We are delighted to be able to confirm our new team selling in to Ireland and couldn’t be happier to have Lorraine at the helm. Her infectious enthusiasm and keen awareness of the opportunities and demands of the Irish market, from both sides of the tills, made her the ideal candidate to lead the new Bloomsbury sales team in achieving the very best for our authors and titles in this important territory.

Lara Morrison, based in Belfast, also joins the team from Pan Macmillan where she was recently Regional Account Manager Ireland, selling to accounts including Eason, Argosy, Dubray and Newspread. Hannah Cronin will be moving roles from within Bloomsbury to join the new Irish team as Sales Assistant Ireland.

Bloomsbury showcases an impressive portfolio of Irish authors, new and established, including Adam B., Sarah Crossan, Sinéad Crowley, Catherine Doyle, Nicole Flattery, Faith Hogan, Neil Jordan, Louise Kennedy, Colum McCann, Fintan O’Toole, Alice Ryan and Niall Williams.

*Academic and Professional titles will be integrated into Bloomsbury’s current sales teams.
